Introduction
Thornes Farm Bed and Breakfast comprises of three luxury bedrooms within a fabulous 17th century farmhouse. We aim to cater for the needs of all our visitors in a warm and friendly manner. Pre-Arrival
- The main train station is 15 minutes away by car.
- There is a bus stop at the top of Knotty Lane on the main Wakefield Road which is 800 yards away.
- We have a website which shows photographs of all the bedrooms and bathrooms, together with the Sitting Room, Kitchen, Dining Room and gardens.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- We have a large courtyard at the front of the house which has ample free parking on a flat pebbled surface, directly in front of the house.
- Assistance with luggage is available if required.
- The entrance is accessed along a stone flagged path straight into the entrance hall.
- The courtyard and entrance hall are lit at night.
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
- The entrance is into a large flagged, beamed hall which leads through a door into the kitchen.
- Guests are escorted to rooms and facilities explained.
- All doorways are at least 28” wide.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
- All upstairs rooms have fitted carpets.
- Entrance hall has stone flags.
- Stairs and landing have fitted carpets.
- There are 12 stair steps up to the first floor.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
- The sitting room and dining room have fitted carpets.
- The entrance hall has stone flags.
- The kitchen has ceramic tiles.
Dining Room/Kitchen
- Breakfast is served in the dining room or the kitchen.
- Both have rectangular tables with an under space of 24”.
- There are chairs without arms which can be moved.
- Full waitress service is available.
- Vegetarian and low fat, low sugar diets are catered for.
- The premises has a strictly no smoking policy.
Laundry
- Laundry service available on request.
Bedrooms
- All three bedrooms are on the first floor, with a secure lockable door.
- Televisions all have remote controls.
- Carpets are all fitted short pile.
- All beds have good access to all sides.
Ensuite/Bathrooms
- Bedroom 1 - Ensuite
- Doorway – 29”, open no door. Double shower - step edge 10” high. Basin – 31”. Toilet – 17”. Bidet – 14”.
- Bedroom 2 - Private bathroom
- Doorway – 30” inward opening door. Basin – 33”. Loo – 17”. Bath edge – 26” high.
Grounds and Gardens
- The large gardens are available for guests use.
